Bob’s Discount Furniture today announced that it will donate funds to six schools in Massachusetts in support of arts and education programs. These funds are made possible through money collected in donation jars, which are located in each store’s cafe.

In December, the Brennan Middle School in Attleboro will receive a check for $2,500, and five other schools will receive $1,000 checks:

• Randolph High School, Randolph
• Millennium Elementary School, Westford
• Stall Brook Elementary School, Bellingham
• Saugus High School, Saugus
• Chicopee High School, Chicopee

“Bob’s values the community support we receive at all of our locations, and we are committed to helping enhance education and arts programs in these areas by encouraging donations and distributing money to worthy schools and community organizations,” said Cathy Poulin, public relations director, Bob’s Discount Furniture. “In December, we’re supporting six schools in Massachusetts, and we look forward to helping out schools in neighboring states in 2012.”

Every month, Bob’s randomly selects schools in the communities near its stores and grants a donation ranging from $1,000 – $5,000. With stores across New England, New Jersey, New York, Maryland and Virginia, Bob’s has donated money to hundreds of schools over the last 20 years. Previous winners have used the donations for purchasing new art and classroom supplies, funding student activity groups and going on field trips.
